f00bar80FRX07_Full_Bundle_20110715 on touch pro 2, no sound on in/outgoing calls unless i turn on the speaker, any comment ?10:42
rpierce99it's been an ongoing issue, kernel audio routing hasn't changed, i want to say it's related to the phone being on silent, but I don't have that issue10:43
f00bar80rpierce99, so it's a phone related issue or a known issue in kernel which hasn't been yet fixed ?10:49
rpierce99it's being fixed, it's not a simple solution. today the kernel handles 100% of the routing of the audio, android gets no say in it. Work has been done to move that to an android-controlled system, but it's still buggy10:50
f00bar80rpierce99, so i can't get it working nomrally, Only in this way (i have to turn the speaker on)?10:53
rpierce99like i said, i don't have the problem, so if you mess around with your sound settings, set to vibrate instead of silent, turn on the ringer, turn off dtmf, etc, you should be able to find a setting that doesn't have that issue10:53
f00bar80rpierce99, already ringer and vibration are both turned on; where to set this dtmf?, can't be related to ringtone ?10:58
rpierce99try turning them off them, I'm just saying change stuff around to see if it helps, dtmf is the touch tones when dialing, so maybe in the dialer app10:59
f00bar80rpierce99, how big I must have my SD. Which helps android run smoothly on this TP2?11:29
rpierce99no11:30
f00bar80rpierce99, so what then can make it smooth ??11:31
rpierce99a new phone11:31
f00bar80rpierce99, closing apps by putting them in a standby mood is the best way to and specially on custom rom or i have to use something like Task killer ?11:36
rpierce99don't use task killers, google says it's a bad idea, especially automatic ones11:37
f00bar80rpierce99, best way to *(close apps in android)11:37
rpierce99don't11:37
rpierce99android handles that11:37
f00bar80rpierce99, i've noticed that they do hurt performance or battery life11:37

*** sigma6 has quit IRC12:29
smiley-Drew_: everything else that isn't /data and /system12:37
Drew_could that be causing me not to have wifi or is that a kernel issue?12:37
rpierce99the rootfs can fix some wifi issues that occurred after the recent upgrade to frx07, but in general that is a kernel modules deal12:39
Drew_kk thank you.12:39
*** |Jeroen| has joined #xdandroid12:43
emwein general you should stay up to date with kernel+initrd+kernel so that we are talking about issues on the same codebase12:48
emweehm, kernel+initrd+rootfs i meant.12:48
rpierce99yeah, system is utterly useless, don't bother updating it :)12:54
emwelol12:54
emwei was rather coming from the fact, that those three parts mentioned are updated more regularly ;)12:55
f00bar80rpierce99, Really frustrating, I've tried and turned off all sound settings and alternately turned on/off, always no sound on call, unless I turn the speaker on.13:39
rpierce99maybe it has something to do with settings in winMo then13:39
rpierce99or your build is broken, but that would be weird13:39
Drew_hey arrrghhh somone is posting as you on tiad8 forums.13:58
rpierce99haha that's really sad14:04
Drew_and probably illegal14:05
rpierce99arrrghhh doesn't have a trademark/copyright/whatever on the name, certainly not illegal14:05
Drew_yeah but its identy fraud14:06
rpierce99mm no14:06
|Jeroen|f00bar80, i also have that problem sometimes14:06

Drew_we were just discussing that.14:27
touchproalso has anyone checked out the raphael nand thread in raph forums? dude made nand on raph (full of bugs but its a start) for raph100, and he is calling it raph800 nand, i checked out tinboot and he has the ram addresses for raph100, anyone have any clue how to get correct addresses for raph800?14:28
rpierce99acl and emwe were discussing the raph nand stuff this morning, i don't think anyone knows anything about what they are doing14:29
touchproover on htc-linux? ill have to check the logs, hopefully its public, i may have to ask them a few questions14:30
rpierce99yeah14:30
rpierce99they said there's something on google code14:30
touchproyeah ive been checking all dude's work against acl's, he isnt far off but calling it working for raph800 when there is a video he posted of it working on a sim card raph is just a huge stretch14:31
rpierce99yeah we've seen how similar cdma and gsm models are with the rhod work14:32
touchprolol yeah, if i could find out the ram addresses things would be gold, then i could start looking at the kernel14:33

arrrghhhnothing, we don't deal with WinMo15:02
arrrghhhif you've got WinMo problems I feel bad for you son15:02
f00bar80arrrghhh, just talking based on what he said >>maybe it has something to do with settings in winMo then , but np anyway and sorry to be off-topic15:03
arrrghhhi doubt it15:03
arrrghhhthe issue he already stated15:04
arrrghhhthe kernel does all the audio routing, and userland doesn't provide any input15:04
arrrghhhyou can try the new acoustic code, but it's not done/stable yet15:04
arrrghhhso yea... there's the rehash of what you've already been told.15:04
rpierce99i said that about winmo because previous incarnations of this issue, you had to boot android while the phone was active15:05
f00bar80arrrghhh, this acoustic code is in the last full Bundle ?15:05

f00bar80It's normal that battery's life and over-all phone performance are a  bit slow and non instantly responsive.15:08
