arossAnyone here tried FRX06/07/07.1 on Diamond500?14:32
arossFRX06 is fine, FRX07 package loads upto the splash screen and then crashes and reboots (even with the fix), FRX07.1 doesn't even get the kernel up.14:36
arossI've tried this fix, no result for me. Anything I missed? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=120330114:37

stinebdarrrghhh: how many colors??17:41
arrrghhhlol17:41
arrrghhhyea i dunno17:41
arrrghhhsome random question17:41
arrrghhhi guess the hardware can do 256k colors17:41
arrrghhhbut winmo is limited to 65k17:41
arrrghhhso someone was wondering if we're using what the hardware is capable of, or whut.17:42
stinebdload a color test image?17:42
stinebdyou'll get a crosshatch or some other non-smooth gradient in the event of limited color palette17:43
arrrghhhnever really cared to look to be honest.  some random dude asked the question, not critical by any means.17:43
arrrghhhoh and evidently I suck at this whole rootfs thing.  I was comparing g3rm0's rootfs for the Blackstone folk and created a folder "blac" in /init.cfg/ and put the blackstone .kl file there17:46
arrrghhhit looked like it should be named "raph_navi_pad.kl" <- perhaps that is wrong...?17:46
stinebdit goes in init.etc/keymaps17:49
arrrghhhyes, in a folder... right?17:51
arrrghhhi made a folder... "blac"?17:51
arrrghhhthen if you use physkeyboard=blac, it should apply that keymap...?17:51
stinebdyes17:51
stinebdinit.etc not init.cfg17:52
arrrghhhyea17:52
arrrghhhoh i said init.cfg... sorry17:52
arrrghhhi meant .etc...17:52
arrrghhhyea, reading init that's all that should be necessary17:52
arrrghhhit's written in such a way that you can put any ole thing in thar17:52
stinebdi know, i wrote it17:52
arrrghhhand so long as it matches, it *should* work17:52
arrrghhhyea17:53
stinebdi'm the man17:53
arrrghhhlol you ar17:53
arrrghhhare*17:53
arrrghhhmuch nicer than that mess of if statements.17:53
arrrghhhwell wth17:53
arrrghhhi have the name correct, yes?17:53
arrrghhhraph_navi_pad.kl?17:53
stinebdi don't know, for blackstone17:53
stinebdgonna have to look at the kernel17:54
arrrghhhkernel?17:54
arrrghhhOo17:54
stinebdthe .kl files are named based on what the input device calls itself (as defined in the kernel)17:54
stinebdit may not have raph-navi-pad17:54
arrrghhhah17:54
arrrghhhok17:54
arrrghhhi'm just going off of g3rm0's rootfs...17:54
arrrghhhtrying to see if this'll even work17:54
arrrghhhand assuming it does, try and get it committed to/for you :P17:55
arrrghhhi just yanked the .kl file from his rootfs17:55
arrrghhhwhich blackstone  users have said works...17:55
stinebdtry naming it qwerty.kl17:55
arrrghhhok17:55
stinebdwho's testing this for you?17:56
arrrghhhpeoples on the forums17:57
arrrghhhthere was a guy that came in here the other day with a blackstone...17:57
arrrghhhdon't see many of them in here.17:57
arrrghhh74 views of that last rootfs18:01
arrrghhhwas only up for a day..18:01
arrrghhhsurprising for Blackstone.18:02
stinebdit's mostly spiders18:04
arrrghhhdownloading attachments from xda-devs?18:04
stinebdsure18:04
arrrghhhi guess you don't have to be a registered user to download attachments from xda anymoar...18:04
stinebdnot for quite a while18:05
arrrghhhyea i forgot about that18:05
arrrghhhheh18:05
arrrghhhoh well18:05
arrrghhhanyhoo, i keep thinking about the poop from F22's rootfs18:05
arrrghhhwhich i know you love18:05
arrrghhhbut can we get any of it...?   even the symbol key?  any of the 'advanced' poop like |?18:06
stinebdpatches welcome, but i'm not going to merge the cmdline stuff18:06
arrrghhhyea i didn't think that would fly18:09
arrrghhhit was nice...18:09
stinebdit was useful when rhod had no home key18:10
arrrghhhyea18:10
arrrghhhwell those who have PTT buttons liked being able to remap that i'm sure18:10
stinebdbtw i've been meaning to ask you, do you write documentation professionally?18:10
arrrghhhyea18:10
arrrghhhi wouldn't say that's my main role, but i do have to document quite a few different things as part of my job...18:11
stinebddon't forget to keep it in the third person imperative exclusively18:11
arrrghhhheh18:11
arrrghhhsomething in the FAQ?18:11
arrrghhh:P18:11
stinebdi was raised by docs nazis18:11
stinebdit's impossible for me to not notice tiny things, and i hate it18:11
arrrghhhi see18:12
arrrghhhyea we're by no means doc nazis at work18:12
stinebdi don't really care about it on the wiki, i was just wondering if you do it at work18:12
arrrghhhbut the problem is if there aren't doc nazis, the docs don't get written at all..18:12
arrrghhhyea, i do.  unfortunately.18:12
arrrghhhmy boss would love me to document every single troubleshooting step imaginable.18:13
arrrghhhshe wanted me to write a document on fixing DB replication issues on the CallManager cluster the other day18:13
arrrghhhi almost laughed in her face...18:13
stinebdif i weren't good at doing actual work, i'd be hired as a docs expert18:14
arrrghhhi'm not a fan of writing docs18:14
stinebdi don't really mind doing manuals or test plans18:14
arrrghhhbut it's a necessary evil.18:14
stinebdbut the design docs are a huge pain in the ass18:14
arrrghhhwe have an application testing department18:14
stinebdand at least half of design documentation is useless18:14
arrrghhhthey're a bunch of idiots that don't know how technology works, so they find all sorts of fun ways to break things.18:15
stinebdyou're lucky you have people like that18:15
stinebdbreaking things is often the only way to get them fixed18:16
arrrghhhtrue18:16
arrrghhhbut sometimes they're frustrating18:16
arrrghhhbecause they don't understand basic computing concepts18:16
arrrghhhso explaining to them why something in particular doesn't work the way they expect it to... can be painful.18:16

arrrghhhorly19:57
arrrghhhoh, i see.19:58
arrrghhhthanks19:58
arrrghhhFRX07.1 turned out to be a pretty good release19:58
arrrghhhi f-ed some things up for non-RHOD, but I fixed that.  most people have had really good things to say.19:58
arrrghhhpoop, i should've included your APK in AndroidApps.20:01
arrrghhhany disagreements with that D3tul3 ?20:01
D3tul3that's fine20:02
