dkamiokaI just downloaded the last release 2010090310:39
dkamiokabut it has a .ext2 file inside 7zip10:39
dkamiokadid I download the wrong file?10:40
dkamiokaI downloaded the file with 40 or so Mb10:41
jensencorrect file, just extract the ext2 file, and name it system.ext210:41
dkamiokabut, in the tutorial10:48
dkamiokait says to configure some .txt files10:48
dkamiokaand to run haret.exe10:49
dkamiokaif my SD is FAT32 will theses files magically appear in my file explorer (in WinMob)?10:50
jensenhave a look at the first four posts here http://ip208-100-42-21.static.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=71169210:51
jensenyou need more than just the ext2 file, you may want to grab a bundle, which should contain everything, including the startup.txt for your device.10:52

gm112Hey Stinebd. The other day, I noticed something interesting regarding the time going out of sync in Android. ClockSync reports that the local offset only goes out of sync when the phone goes into sleepmode. I've tested it a little, but I dunno if it's enough. My thoughts are that the RTC's getting shut off along with everything else when it's not supposed to be? I mean, I can't come up with another reason why it's going out of sync l18:26
stinebdscrambled screen on gallery3d rotate18:26

gm112Oh?18:26
stinebdi'm playing around with stuff. if i make no sense, just ignore me like the crazy homeless guy under the bridge18:28
stinebdone of the joys of being marginally brain damaged is that i can muck around in code and have an excuse when things get broken18:29
diamonduserHi again, how do you connect xdandroid to a pc?18:29
gm112Better than  being mentally retarded, I guess18:29
gm112;P18:29
diamonduserwhen I plug my diamond in, the PC doesn't pick it up18:30
gm112Diamonduser: Did you have your USB cord plugged in before booting Android?18:30
diamondusermaybe?18:30
gm112USB never seems to work for me when I don't have it connected through activesync first18:30
gm112so, yeah18:30
stinebdthere is currently no way to use the phone for mass storage with android18:31
diamonduserso reboot without it connected... then connect?18:31
diamonduseroh?18:31
gm112Oh, yeah.. you're not trying to use ADB are you/18:31
stinebdwith usb activesync connected while booting, you can connect adb (the android debug bridge)18:31
gm112That completely slipped my mind. Haha18:31
diamonduserright... what it is... I was looking to download MP3s to my droid?18:32
diamonduserhow do I do that?18:32
gm112You'll have to load the files up while you're on Windows Mobile, since mass storage mode isn't necessarily working yet.18:32
gm112As stinebd said18:32
gm112adb works, though18:32
iarspiderSD card? OnAir application (plus FTP/SCP/WebDAV client)? ADB push?18:32
diamonduserokay, thanks18:33
diamonduserwhat is adb? and can I use it?18:33
gm112It's how you access Android's shell via USB on your computer. If you have the SDK installed, you can use it18:33
iarspiderADB: http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/adb.html18:33
gm112I'm not 100% sure, but I believe there are some programs out there that sort of work like an ftp-esque program using adb's push/pull file operations?18:34
gm112I could be wrong. I'm still getting back into the scene ;P18:34
diamonduserokay, adb looks a bit too much for what I want/need!18:34
diamonduserI'll just go the WinMo route I think18:34
gm112It'll be better that way18:35
diamonduserthanks again18:35
gm112There used to be a way to get mass storage to work at the cost of debug mode18:35
gm112doubt it works on 2.2, though18:35
diamondusernah, think I'll play it safe18:36
diamonduserthanks18:36
gm112^^.18:36
gm112Anyhow, Stinebd.. could the RTC going out of sync be because the clock doesn't work while the phone is in sleep mode?18:37
stinebdpossibly18:37
gm112Huh. Well, I haven't have the toolchain setup on this computer. Maybe later I'll try it out. Thanks ^^18:38

R^7ZI might be answering my own question here23:08
R^7ZBut if memory serves, could I still mount the .sqsh file?23:09
R^7ZI guess the question is, do you just have to create another folder and put all the files you want to keep from the mounted .sqsh into the new directory and once you compile (I guess is the word) to save the directory as an ext2 file, some how?23:10
