mgross029d3tul3: found this patch on CM and not sure if it relates to your volume and vibrate mode.  https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_frameworks_base/commit/8ca9a1cf350bde9a429b8a6fe7c673b964048a5408:55
mgross029Just thought I would let you have a look in case it does.08:55
d3tul3sorry you have me mistaken i don't recall this issue08:57
mgross029Ok it must be the detule :p  After just looking closer at this patch it appears to be more related to volume keys than what I was thinking (mic not working in vibrate)  Sorry about that.09:00

arrrghhhi got it mainly because it has the same mini-usb plug as the phone :P10:24
mgross029Yeah the h700 was a good headset.  I used the heck out of mine and now have the h710.  Unfortunately h710 had a microUSB instead of a mini...  Still works really well though.10:29

mgross029Made a test call and routing took a moment but did work correctly.  I'm guessing because the phone was still settling when I made the call was the reason the routing took some time.11:56

d3tul3alright thanks, my tree is a bit of a mess i tried 10 different things and now i am trying to trim down to what's only necessary....can you do a few reboots and verify it's not having a hard time scanning/pairing, unpair with the headset first12:14
d3tul3(for some reason over here it's suddenly having a i would also like to bring in some BT infrastructure from emwe's tree, just don't want to bring the sleep issue with it :)12:15
d3tul3er that sentence is strange it should be : i would also like to bring in some BT infrastructure from emwe's tree, just don't want to bring the sleep issue with it :)12:16
mgross029Sure...  I'm testing turning off and on the headset and that seems to work now...  It didn't on a previous boot.12:16
emweyeah.. the sleep bug...12:16
d3tul3the sleep bug is somewhere in msm_serial_hs12:17
d3tul3i know that narrowed it down quite a lot12:17
mgross029Also BT dialer is working now.  Had to kick it in the pants by holding the green bottom row key to engage at first and now it enables with pushing the bt headset key.12:17
mgross029Hmmm  take that back...  It worked once but now it's not.  bleh...12:18
*** |Jeroen| has joined #xdandroid12:20
emwed3tul3: i had some set_irq_wake() calls enabling and disabling irq waking the device in some file (might be msm_serial_hs.c) taken over from .27, but that didn't help.12:22
d3tul3you have some extra wakelocks in there12:25
d3tul3a dma bus wakelock? don't remember12:25
d3tul3i am not sure just how polished that interaction between bt_lpm and serial_hs is...supposedly it's set up so that bt_lpm turns off the uart clock but it seems fishy to me12:26
d3tul3for one I don't understand why it's using the request_clock_off_locked rather than request_clock_off api12:27
mgross029d3tul3: bt dialer seems to work intermittently for me.  I will try and pair with my car later to see how that works.12:29
d3tul3mgross029, you have time for one more kernel?12:33
mgross029Sure...  Too bad kexec doesn't work...  lol j/k :p12:34
d3tul3yea http://dl.dropbox.com/u/38520332/3.1/3.1ker_mod_bt%232.tar.gz12:34
emwed3tul3: with alex' clocks, UART1-3 are not managed by clock-wince anymore. perhaps this is the sleep issue? clock being still on and allowing device to fire? (might be i am talking total bs here. unknown area...)12:35
d3tul3i think you are onto something, there is code in msm_serial_hs to turn off the uart clock on linux suspend, however it is currently inactive and clock management is relegated to bt_lpm12:37
d3tul3at any rate i had the same issue as you with msm_serial_hs taken from CA (2011)12:37
d3tul3using the .27 msm_serial_hs it suspends fine12:38
d3tul3i was trying to hunt down the differences, but there's a few12:38
emweoh it goes down fine then with .27 variant?12:43
emwehm12:43
emwei just took over the set_irq_wake(). there's been "some other" changes i haven't looked.12:43
mgross029d3tul3: still intermittent bt dialer...  There is a little delay with the headset reconnecting but not too bad...12:50

d3tul3cleaner if this works this is what will get pushed15:58
mgross029Pushy Pushy...  :p15:59
mgross029Just a sec.15:59

mgross029d3tul3: pairs, suspend works.16:19
mgross029I should be able to activate the BT voice dialer with the push of the headset button, but I cannot.  I think I know what the issue is...  Trying to pull it from the logs.  I have been able to use this on .35 and .27 so far.16:21

mgross02912-14 16:22:18.218 I/Libacoustic-wince( 1329): Couldn't find custom acoustic parameters for Motorola H710, using default  <---  Haven't seen this before.  Which csv are you pulling from sdcard or system/etc in 3.1?16:23
mgross029d3tul3: ^^16:23
d3tul3oO tiad8 started watching linux-msm-rhod/linux-msm-rhod16:24
mgross029Send him a bomb kernel. :p16:25
d3tul3mgross029 userland reads the csv files nt the kernel16:25
mgross029Hmm...  Interesting because I have the custom profile built on in the csv on the sdcard for the H710, but the AudioPara4.csv doesn't have the custom profile information for that headset.  Experimenting time. :p16:27
*** corein has joined #xdandroid16:28
mgross029Well I copied the my Audiopara3.csv to /system/etc/AudioPara4.csv and I'm rebooting.  Not sure why I would have to do that.  I have not had to in the past, but who knows...16:32
emwecsv reading+parsing is userland. nothing to do with kernel.16:33
*** BulitPruf has joined #xdandroid16:34
mgross029That is what I thought at first but why would I get that problem now with the acoustic profile?16:37
mgross029Well everything but the bt voice dialer seems to work.  Not sure what piece is missing for the voice dialer, but it also effects answering a phone call so I think that is an important part.16:42
d3tul3you can't answer a phone call?16:43
d3tul3that's it i'm buying a headset16:43
mgross029Not by pushing the button on my bt headset16:43
mgross029Had to swipe the screen in order to answer.  I could hear it ring in the headset though16:44

d3tul3later thanks for testing16:50

d3tul3jonpry gp_timer slowdowns?19:15
jonpryor whatever causes them19:18
d3tul3well, when i originally caught up the 3.1 tree i had them once or twice a day...then i took out scbs and how long has it been couple of weeks? i haven't had one since19:22
jonprycan't very well be caused by scbs as they were happening long before i added it19:52
d3tul3there was that timer code19:54
jonpryif 3.1 without scbs is actually fixed its still worth a celebration19:55
jonpryprobably can fix scbs19:55
d3tul3if we actually knew wth was broken....it's probably something else that perhaps scbs aggrevated....19:56
jonpryi'd be good with just knowing its fixed19:56
d3tul3also this idle code + scbs....causes those immediate sods when pluggin in charger or usb when in suspend19:57
jonpryidle power collapse is dangerous19:57
jonpryswitching to WFI is the easiest thing19:58
d3tul3we need many many people people running these kernels to see if any one of them actually fixed...19:58
d3tul3it's silly that <10 are actually using them19:59
jonpryindeed19:59
jonprybut nobody will run them cause there is no build available19:59
d3tul3if we can't get xdandroid build out, arrrghhh or someone else from xdandroid should release a GB testing build19:59
jonprysounds good to me20:00
d3tul3really the only thing that is semi broken is acoustic, but sound routing is already semi broken in froyo anyways20:00
jonprytry leaving mic bias on?20:08
d3tul3yeah i had done that already when i suggested it...it works20:08
jonpry100%?20:08
d3tul3pretty much it was a userland hack where once mic turned on it never turned it off...so after the first correctly routed microphone bias_on call it worked 100%20:09
d3tul3it can be hacked much better in the kernel i bet20:09
d3tul3but i have a fobia of looking at JBs code20:10
jonpryanything that is 100% just needs to be done20:10
jonprynay sayers can fix it better some other day20:12

arrrghhhlmao21:23
arrrghhhbut it haz to be 3.1?21:24
arrrghhhor...?21:24
arrrghhhis this a rhod-only release i assume?21:24
d3tul3talking about xdandroid-gb...there are kernels out there that work, whether it's 35 or 39 or 27 with acoustic21:26
arrrghhhthat's fine21:26
arrrghhh.27 will probably have to be posted for other devices21:26
arrrghhh.35 i think works with raph and topa because of emwe21:26
arrrghhhnot sure to what degree21:26
d3tul3sure compiling .27 from alex's branch should be easy enough21:26
arrrghhhi don't think any other devices work tho.  oh, x1 obviously lol21:27
arrrghhhi bet he hasn't changed anything since the last .27 was built off his tree...21:27
d3tul3somehow an official or semi-official acoustic build needs to make its way out there, because i feel like we're holding out on these acoustic enabled newer kernels....21:28
arrrghhhyea, i know.21:29
arrrghhhlike you guys said, no one is using the newer kernels cuz no builds support acoustic.21:29
arrrghhhit seems a full GB release isn't as close as i once thought...21:29
d3tul3by the time a full GB release is feasable there will be no user base left21:30
arrrghhhwe still have a user base?21:30
d3tul3yeah that21:30
d3tul3perhaps you should make it a christmas present21:30
